Introducing Our New Interim Director of Christian Formation
/I am thrilled to join Rev. Pittman in the ministry at Madison Presbyterian Church! I’ve been cheering for Courtney and this congregation since her early conversations with the PNC. The love, energy, and support at MPC are contagious, and I’m excited to help build on this strong foundation.
A cradle Presbyterian, social worker, and mom of three teens, I grew up in a Navy family, sparking my love for travel and new experiences. After college, I served as a Young Adult Volunteer in Northern Ireland, working with youth gangs and doing peace and reconciliation work, which inspired me to earn a Master’s in Social Work from Loyola Chicago. Since then, I’ve worked in youth counseling, leadership programs, and community engagement.
Most recently, I served as Director of Youth Ministries at First Presbyterian Church of Athens, building a vibrant, connected youth program. I’ve also been active nationally, leading coaching cohorts, writing curriculum for the Office of Christian Formation, and serving on the Presbyterian Youth Workers Association board. I’m excited to bring these experiences to MPC.
On a personal note, I’m supported by my husband, Erik, who directs the Institute for Higher Education at UGA, and our three kids—Ben (a freshman at GA Tech), Kate (11th grade), and Tenny (9th grade). We also have two lively dogs, Desta and Gobez, who enjoy having me work from home.
I can’t wait to meet everyone!
