Madison Presbyterian Church Children’s Ministry

WHAT ARE SUNDAYS LIKE FOR CHILDREN?

  • Childcare is available for infants through preschool-aged during Sunday worship. The nursery is located in the first floor of the Education Building.

  • We welcome all children to join our worship, embracing their wiggles and giggles regardless of age.

  • Children's worship materials and activities are available in the hallway of the Education Building just within the doors next to the Sanctuary.

  • A special Children’s Church message is part of every service, and programming in the Education Building follows the Children’s Church message during the school year.

  • We encourage families to celebrate communion together the first Sunday of each month.

I’m a cradle Presbyterian, social worker, and mom of three teens. Growing up in a Navy family sparked my love for travel and new experiences. After college, I served as a Young Adult Volunteer in Northern Ireland, which led me to earn a Master’s in Social Work from Loyola Chicago. Since then, I’ve worked in youth counseling, leadership development, and community programs.

Before coming to MPC, I served as Director of Youth Ministries at First Pres in Athens, where I helped build a vibrant, connected youth program. I’ve also been involved nationally—writing curriculum, coaching youth leaders, and serving on the PYWA board.

At home, I’m supported by my husband, Erik, who works at UGA, and our three kids—Ben, Kate, and Tenny—as well as our two energetic pups, Desta and Gobez.

Jordan Newman
Director of Children’s Ministries

Hi everyone! I’m Jordan Newman, and I’m so excited to step into the role of Director of Children’s Ministries here at MPC! Some of you might already know me from the preschool—I’ve been the Lead Teacher in the two-year-old classroom and it’s been such a joy to be part of this community.

I am so privileged to support our kids in their faith journeys and help create fun, meaningful experiences for them. I particularly enjoy working on the Christmas pageant, heading up JAM on Wednesdays during the school year, and leading Children’s Church each Sunday.

I’ve lived in Morgan County since 2007, I have an associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education from GMC, and I’m also a proud mom to two awesome kids—Noah and Grace.
