Colin grew up in Clemson, South Carolina where he also completed his undergraduate degree at Clemson University. Colin attended Union Presbyterian Seminary in Richmond, Virginia for his graduate degree. Since leaving Clemson, he has lived in North Carolina and Virginia, but is happy have called Georgia home since early 2018.
During Colin’s time in Clemson, he began to feel the call to serve God’s Church, especially the young people of the Church. Between his time and Clemson University and Union Presbyterian Seminary, Colin spent a year of service in Asheville, North Carolina. In Asheville, he worked at a day shelter that served people experiencing homelessness. During his time there, he developed a greater sense of the image of God in all people, as well as God’s imperative to love one another. As the Associate Pastor for Children and Youth Ministry at Madison Presbyterian Church, he has come to understand his call to blend his passion for justice with the education of young people because Colin believes the young people are not merely the “Church of the future”, but the “Church of today.” He is thankful to work in a place where the Spirit is clearly empowering children, youth, and adults to live lives as Christ followers.
Colin is married to Emily, and they have one dog, Barkley. In his free time he loves watching critically-acclaimed dramas, hiking, listening to live music, playing soccer, and sitting in front of the TV for long hours on Fall Saturdays.
